It's been 15 years since the release of the original series of Professor Layton in Japan. Commemorating its 15th anniversary, we are going to launch an art competition! Enter the competition by posting your illustrations featuring memorable scenes and characters. 15 outstanding illustrations will be awarded the original sealing stamps commemorating the 15th anniversary of the release of the original series of Professor Layton. What is the 'Professor Layton' series? 'Professor Layton' is an adventure video game, which has sold more than 17 million units around the world. In this riddle-filled game, players advance through with the story by solving a number of puzzles.

JUDGING Judging and winner selection will commence once the entry period is over. Announcement of the winners will be posted on the official Layton Series websites and Twitter accounts. *Only tweets which match the application criteria during the entry period will be eligible. *Please do not delete your tweet before the winners have been announced.

  • *Please check the application criteria when entering this competition.
  • *Only artwork such as illustrations, digital art, paintings and drawings will be accepted. Movies and animation are not eligible.
  • *Only artwork posted with the hashtag #Layton15th will be eligible.
  • *Any artwork posted from a Protected Account will not be eligible.
  • *One applicant may submit multiple entries; however, each applicant is limited to the use of a single Twitter account.
  • *Any artwork containing characters from outside of the Layton Series will not be eligible.
  • *Please note that tweets of the winners of this competition and those who met the conditions for entry (including the Twitter account names, tweet text contents, images, etc.) may be cited or presented at our official website, official SNS, etc.
APPLICATION CRITERIA

Those who wish to enter the "International Art Competition commemorating the 15th anniversary of the release of the original series of Professor Layton" (hereinafter called the "Competition"), which is conducted by LEVEL-5 Inc. (hereinafter called the "Company") are requested to read the conditions and requirements described below and consent to them before the entry. Please note that once you enter the Competition, it is considered that you consented to those conditions and requirements.

For 15 outstanding illustrations

  • ・Original sealing stamps commemorating the 15th anniversary of the release of the original series of Professor Layton.
【How to enter】
  • ・Entry to the Competition is complete once an applicant has: followed one of the Layton Series Twitter accounts (either @L5_layton or @LaytonSeries); then posted artwork created by the applicant on Twitter that matches the theme of the Competition, along with a comment about the artwork and the hashtag #Layton15th written in the post.
【Announcing the Winners】
  • ・Once impartial judging is complete, the winning artworks will be announced on the Competition website as well as the official Layton Series Twitter accounts, @L5_layton and @LaytonSeries.
  • ・The winning applicants will be contacted via direct message from either one of the official Layton Series Twitter accounts: @L5_layton or @LaytonSeries.
【Notes】
  • ・One applicant may submit multiple entries; however, each applicant is limited to the use of a single Twitter account.
  • ・Any underage applicants must have permission from a legal guardian to enter.
  • ・If a winner's Twitter account is protected or set to reject direct messages, he/she will not receive information on award winning from our official Twitter account "@L5_layton" or "@LaytonSeries". In such case, his/her right to receive the award will be cancelled.
  • ・All direct messaging will be conducted in English or Japanese only.
  • ・If we do not receive any reply from a winner within the designate period of time or his/her Twitter account is set to reject direct messages, his/her right to receive the award will be cancelled.
  • ・Winners may lose their rights to prizes should their address be invalid, or if their address changes due to a move.
  • ・Please refrain from: transferring prizes or the rights to receive prizes to third parties; selling or exchanging the prizes for money or other items of monetary value; or the placing of prizes on internet auctions.
  • ・Due to uncontrollable circumstances, the contents herein are subject to change without prior notice.
  • ・Miscellaneous expenses such as the Internet connection fee, which are required for entering the Competition, are the responsibility of the applicant.
  • ・In connection with the Competition, the Company is not liable for any damage incurred by the applicant.
  • ・Other than contacting the winners, the Company will not discuss the results via individual communications.
  • ・Please be aware that the Company is unable to answer questions on the judging process or results for the Competition.
  • ・This Competition is in no way connected to Twitter, Inc.
【Copyrights】
  • ・The copyrights and all the other rights to awarded illustrations (including but not limited to the rights set forth in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Act) will be transferred to the Company with no compensation. Also, the applicant will not execute the author's moral rights relating to his/her illustrations against the Company or any third party designated by the Company.
  • ・Whether awarded or not, illustrations posted by each applicant may be used by the Company at its official website, at SNS, for publicity materials, etc. Once the applicant posts an illustration, he/she is considered to have agreed to this condition.
